Derek B
I was born in Szczecin, Poland.  I live in Canada since 1987.  I am fortunate that I can combine my professional life with my passion for mountain exploration and trekking. 
My  favorite destination is the Karakoram and the Himalayas closely followed by the  Canadian Arctic and the Canadian Rockies.  I have visited the mountains of Nepal, Pakistan, India and Tibet several times. I try to choose regions that are less popular and known. In my travels I attach great importance to working with the local population.  I try to travel with local guides and porters as much as possible to ensure that they benefit directly from my visits to their lands. Over time, I have been fortunate to form many friendships this way.

I also enjoy archaeology and exploration of various cultures and traditions around the world.
